Remove FTP users from my cPanel Hosting account
Updated Apr 6th, 2021 at 15:26 BST
Use cPanel's FTP accounts feature to remove unwanted FTP users from your cPanel hosting account.
Note: You can't remove Special FTP accounts, like the account for the site owner.
Go to your TsoHost Client Area: https://my.tsohost.com/clientarea.php Go to Services. Click on My Services. Select the cPanel service in question. Click on the Login to cPanel button. Click on the cPanel Admin button.
Once you are in cPanel navigate to FTP Accounts section, next to the account you want to delete, click Delete. The confirming message shows the FTP login for that user account and the path to that user's home directory.
(Optional): Selecting "Delete the User's Home Directory" will delete that user's home directory and all files in it.
Warning: If this FTP user's home directory is mapped to the public_html folder, selecting this option deletes the contents of the website, which is not recommended.
Click Delete. The FTP user account (and that user's home directory if you selected it) are deleted.
More info: For help with cPanel, see the FTP Accounts feature documentation: https://docs.cpanel.net/cpanel/files/ftp-accounts
