Linking domain and hosting
Updated May 26th, 2022 at 14:16 BST
To display your site, the domain and hosting need to work together. When the domain is typed in, the DNS needs to know where to look for the files of your site, so the browser can then display them.
To achieve this, there are two things you need to do. First, your domain needs to be pointed to our hosting. This is usually achieved by changing the nameservers of the domain to ns1.tsodns.com and ns2.tsodns.com. However, if you have acquired your domain through us, these nameservers will already be set, so you wouldn't need to change anything.
The second step is to add the website to your hosting with us. This is achieved through the control panel. Once you access it, you will be able to see an 'Add new website' button right at the top. Put in the domain you wish to have associated with your site and then simply follow the instructions provided for you. If you have any doubts whether your site requires a Linux or Windows hosting platform, feel free to contact us, so we can assist you. Most popular apps (eg. Wordpress, Magento, Joomla, etc.) run on the Linux hosting platform.
