How to change your PHP version on cPanel

Updated May 9th at 11:13 BST

On most of our shared cPanel hosting plans you would have the ability to change your PHP versions, although this does vary depending on your server type.

CloudLinux #

If you are on a CloudLinux system you can select the 'Select PHP Version' icon under software and then simply select your desired version and press 'Set as Current'.

EasyApache4 #

If you are hosted on an EasyApache4 system you can upgrade your PHP version by selecting the 'MultiPHP Manager' option under the Software section of your cPanel.

Once selected you would need to tick the box to the left of your desired domain name and select a new version from the 'PHP Version' dropdown and press the 'Apply' button.

What to do if you don't have either option #

IF you do not have either of the icons above or an option to upgrade your PHP version, you are likely on one of our older cPanel servers, if this is the case, please feel free to contact support to arrange a migration.
