Customer Migration FAQ

General

What is happening?

We are migrating our tsoHost customer accounts, products and domain names to 123 Reg by December 2024.

What will change?

You will no longer log in to tsoHost, but to 123 Reg. Your active products and services will be migrated over, maintaining – in most cases – the existing renewal date and period. You will be contracted under 123 Reg, and log in to 123 Reg to access your products. 123 Reg will process your renewals, and the 123 Reg customer services team will support you. The master control panel you log in to will change to 123 Reg, but as tsoHost and 123 Reg share the same products, your hosting, WordPress and VPS product panels will remain the same.

What will happen to tsoHost?

Once all customers are transitioned to 123 Reg, tsoHost will cease operations and all current resources will be devoted to supporting customers from within 123 Reg.

What will happen to my tsoHost account, products, and services?

All tsoHost accounts, products, and services will be migrated to 123 Reg with no impact to your site uptime or business continuity.

What do I need to do?

From now until your account is migrated to 123 Reg, you will receive a number of notices keeping you informed about what will be happening with your account and services. Our main request is for you to look for these updates and read them carefully, as they will contain important information to ensure a smooth transition to 123 Reg.

To help ensure a smooth transition we ask that you log in to your tsoHost account and check your admin details are correct, and update them if needed, including...

  • Address
  • Phone
  • Email
  • Payment details
  • VAT status

What if I don’t want to be a 123 Reg customer?

We understand that some customers might not see 123 Reg as a good fit. If that is the case for you, you must migrate your products, domains and services to another host and close your tsoHost account prior to October 2024.

If you need assistance cancelling your tsoHost account in advance of migration please contact our support team.

However, to ensure the preservation of your data and continuity of your business, if your account is still active during the scheduled migration window, we will migrate your account to 123 Reg. After which you can choose to close your 123 Reg account.

Will you help me migrate to another hosting company?

No, all our resources will be dedicated to providing a seamless transition from tsoHost to 123 Reg.

Will I automatically be opted into 123 Reg marketing?

As part of your account migration, we will import your existing marketing consent settings into your new 123 Reg account. Once your 123 Reg account is set up you can opt in and out of marketing communications.

Will I automatically be opted into 123 Reg legal agreement(s)?

Yes – as tsoHost is closing and the business is moving to 123 Reg you will become a customer of 123 Reg with implied consent to 123 Reg T&Cs. Upon your first log in to 123 Reg you can review the T&Cs and will have to accept them. The T&Cs between 123 Reg and tsoHost are mostly similar, but you are asked to review any specifics. You will not be able to login to your 123 Reg account without explicitly consenting to the T&Cs.

What should I tell my clients about this change to my account and products?

We feel confident that the experience for you and your clients will only improve. tsoHost and 123 Reg already have a strong partnership and all of the tsoHost products that are being migrated are the same as those provided by 123 Reg. So, although you’re an existing tsoHost customer, much of that tsoHost experience you’ve come to trust is already 123 Reg.

Account settings and payment information

Will my payment options change?

123 Reg offers more options for how you can pay for your products, including manual and auto-renewal options for credit and debit cards and PayPal.

What will happen to my current payment information?

The secure tokens held for credit and debit cards on tsoHost (expired and active) will be migrated to 123 Reg, allowing a seamless migration of your automated product renewals. Once you receive your login credentials for 123 Reg you can log in and check your payment details are correct, add or amend a backup payment method and confirm or amend the auto-renewal settings for each product.

Will my prices change?

Domain and product renewal invoices are normally raised 30 days in advance of the expiry/renewal date based on tsoHost pricing. Any invoice not paid before migration will be cancelled under tsoHost, and you will subsequently be charged based on current 123 Reg pricing (which may be higher or lower). We therefore recommend paying open invoices on tsoHost to lock in the tsoHost pricing for the next billing period. Should you have any queries regarding the possible impact of migration on domain and product renewal pricing, please visit 123 Reg Pricing or contact us directly.

What if I need to update information on my tsoHost account?

You will have the ability to update information on your tsoHost account, including your contact information, billing information, and account contacts, right up until the time your account is migrated. You will also be able to update your account information once your account is transitioned to 123 Reg.

I already have a 123 Reg account, can my tsoHost account be migrated to that account?

If you already have a 123 Reg account a new 123 Reg account will be created for your tsoHost migration. Each account will be independent on 123 Reg, and you will differentiate which account you are logging in to by your 123 Reg account credentials, notably your email address as your username.

If your 123 Reg and tsoHost accounts use the same email address for login we recommend you update your tsoHost account login in advance of the migration to easily allow you to distinguish your accounts on 123 Reg.

What happens if I have more than one tsoHost account?

All of your accounts will be transitioned to 123 Reg as new individual 123 Reg account(s).

123 Reg uses your account email address as login, if you have multiple accounts on tsoHost using the same email address we suggest you set a unique email address to login to tsoHost in advance of the migration, to allow you a smooth login experience.

What if I need to open a new account between now and when my account is migrated?

If you are opening a new account to help organise a new client or project, we encourage you to open a new 123 Reg account as 123 Reg provides a better set of tools to help web developers and designers manage multiple projects and clients from a single account.

What if I need to purchase new products around the time my tsoHost account is scheduled to be migrated?

You will be notified of the small window of time prior to your account transition where your account will be locked while we migrate it to prevent any problems. However, prior to that you will have full access to tsoHost products and services. And immediately after your account is migrated to 123 Reg you will have access to all 123 Reg products and services.

What happens to my tsoHost account credit?

Your account credit will be moved to 123 Reg at the same time as your customer account. You can use credit to purchase new products, or renew current products.

Will I be able to access my tsoHost invoices and receipts?

Your old invoices and receipts will not be copied into your new 123 Reg account profile. If you need a copy for account purposes, you’ll need to download the PDF/s from within your tsoHost account before your account migration.

I have a VAT number in my tsoHost account. Will my VAT number migrate to my 123 Reg account?

If you have a payment method set up in your tsoHost profile, your VAT number will be included in the migration. Please check that you have set up a payment method before the migration date. Failing to do so will result in your VAT number not getting migrated to your 123 Reg account. You can add a VAT number to your account on 123 Reg once you receive your 123 Reg login details.

Products

tsoHost and 123 Reg have shared backend product technology for the past few years. Hosting (on cPanel), VPS and WordPress are hosted on the same servers, with the same product control panels. You will not experience a change in how you use these products, just how you access the different product panels via your main 123 Reg account control panel.

What will happen to my tsoHost contracts for annual products?

All contracts will be migrated to 123 Reg along with your products. So, if you have an annual contract on a service, that same contract will be honored by 123 Reg.

Many domain extensions allow renewals for up to 10 years, in this case your paid for period will be inherited by 123 Reg and your auto-renewal period set to match your tsoHost renewal period, or where not set the last renewal period. 123 Reg allows you to modify the auto-renewal period for each domain name.

What if I want to cancel a product after my account has been migrated to 123 Reg?

123 Reg allows cancellation and turning off auto-renewal for each product. This is managed within your product’s control panel.

Are any tsoHost products not being migrated to 123 Reg?

123 Reg and tsoHost have aligned the product portfolio since 2019, at this stage all remaining products with tsoHost will be migrated. There are some legacy products that are not supported on 123 Reg which have/are been terminated on tsoHost, with customer notices having been served.

Will my site(s) go offline during my account migration?

No, your products will not be affected by your account migration.

Will I lose access to my control panel at any time during the migration process?

Yes, there will be a small window of time where your account will be locked to prevent any problems during the migration process. We expect this window to last between a few seconds to a few minutes. The next time you log into your account you will have access to your new 123 Reg control panel.

Will 123 Reg update my DNS records, if necessary?

No DNS changes are being made during the customer migration, any updates to DNS systems will be handled independently in advance of this transition.

Will you change how expired domain renewals work?

If you do not renew your domain name before expiration, there may be a redemption fee applied to recover it. Please see the 123 Reg Support article for further information.

Support services

Will I still have access to the tsoHost community or knowledge base after my account is migrated?

You will have access to tsoHost support resources up until the moment your account is migrated to 123 Reg, after which, you will have access to 123 Reg’s robust knowledge center, as well as all their support resources. As the products are the same, the only thing changing is the way you log in and administer your account. The tsoHost knowledge base will be removed upon successful completion of the migration project.

Will I be able to purchase or use all 123 Reg products?

Yes, one of the reasons behind our decision to migrate tsoHost customers to 123 Reg is to give you access to 123 Reg’s continuously expanding suite of products.

Will I still have access to Advanced Support?

tsoHost provides advanced support via the VPS fully managed services team. The same level of support will be provided by 123 Reg, by the same team supporting you today.

Other questions

What happens if my tsoHost service is suspended at the time it is supposed to be migrated?

A suspended service is a service which has expired, this is either due to you cancelling the product or because an auto-renewal payment has failed. The product is suspended with the website and/or services turned off. There is a period of time after the product expires, called the suspended state, where you can renew your product and have services restored.

Suspended services will not be migrated to your new 123 Reg account. When you receive your 7-day migration reminder, you should check for any open invoices and renew any expired or suspended products that you want to have migrated.

It may take up to 24 hours for access to your tsoHost control panel to close. Please proceed with logging into your new 123 Reg account. If any actions are needed before closing your tsoHost account, we'll contact you.
